Documentation of gender-responsive pedagogy as a best practice by the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE)
The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE), is a Pan-African, non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 1992. FAWE is a network of 34 national chapters aimed at promoting gender equity and equality in education in Sub-Saharan Africa. The FAWE Gender-Responsive Pedagogy (GRP) model intervention has been implemented since 2005. The GRP model aimed to create a gender-sensitive teaching environment that would enhance and facilitate equal participation of both boys and girls. This case study research looks at the decision-making processes within the GRP model, the cost of implementation, and the impact on a number of pedagogy-based indicators.
