Tackling violence in schools: A global perspective

Bridging the gap between standards and practice

In June 2011, a high-level expert meeting on “Tackling Violence in Schools” was held in Oslo, Norway. This meeting was jointly organized by the Government of Norway, the Council of Europe and the Office of the Special Representative on Violence against Children. The outcomes of this meeting form an important component of this report, which seeks to bring together and document the essential aspects of effective initiatives to end violence in schools. The report also seeks to mobilize decisive action to accelerate progress in violence prevention and elimination.
