This report documents girls’ educational attainment and child marriage in West and Central Africa, the factors that lead girls to marry or leave school early, and the impacts on a range of development outcomes. The report also estimates selected economic costs resulting from girls marrying and leaving school early are also estimated. Finally, it discusses policies and programmes that could help end child marriage and improve girls’ educational attainment.
