About Us: Global Advisory Committee and Partners

Leonard Cheshire Disability

For over 65 years, Leonard Cheshire Disability has supported disabled people in many different ways, to reflect what they tell us they want.

We work for a society in which every person is equally valued. We believe that disabled people should have the freedom to live their lives the way they choose - with the opportunity and support to live independently, to contribute economically and to participate fully in society.

That belief is at the heart of everything we do.

Our approach to international development

We take a unique approach to international development through:
• Innovative development programmes that transform the lives of disabled people in 12 countries in Africa and Asia through education, livelihoods and healthcare.
• Cutting edge campaigns that empower people with disabilities to bring about lasting change.
• World class research at our world renowned disability and inclusive development centre at University College London that improves policy, practice and programmes.
