School-Related Gender-Based Violence (SRGBV): (Joint Statement) International Day of the Girl Child 2014: This is the Moment to Take Action for Adolescent Girls in the Post-2015 Agenda
The 2014 International Day of the Girl Child focused on empowering girls to end the cycle of violence in their own communities. Adolescent girls are particularly vulnerable to violence, discrimination and other human rights violations. Yet, when girls grow up healthy, educated, safe and empowered, they can fulfill their potential to be leaders in their communities, countries and the world.
Global partners came together to release this joint statement to show their commitment to ending the cycle of violence on this day and beyond.
