This publication is the first collective update on the work of UNGEI at global, regional and country levels. It states the partnership's mission statement and focuses on the four regions where UNGEI focal points have been established: East Asia and the Pacific, Eastern and Southern Africa, South Asia, and West and Central Africa. For each region, an overview is followed by a description of the barriers to girls' education, the interventions by UNGEI and the existing partnerships in the region.
