The partners of the United Nations Girls' Education Initiative (UNGEI), East Asia and the Pacific (EAP) and South Asia (SA) have produced the UNGEI EAP Notebook featuring the winning drawings of the 2012-2013 UNGEI drawing contest, entitled 'A World Where All Girls and Boys are Empowered through Quality Education'.

The annual UNGEI drawing contest aims to raise public awareness of regional issues of gender equality in education while literally painting a picture of the benefits of education for all children. This year the contest was open to all nationals and residents in the Asia-Pacific region aged 18 years or under and more than 800 young people from 15 countries across the region submitted their drawings illustrating ‘What can a teacher do to ensure girls and boys benefit equally from quality education?’ 15 winners from each of the participating countries were selected by the public.
