Save the Children
Today it is estimated that 77 million children are excluded from education. 39 million children – approximately half of the world’s out-of-school children – are living in countries affected by armed conflict. Millions of the children who are attending school are receiving a substandard education. According to Save the Children, the global goal of Education For All (EFA) by 2015 will not be reached if drastic action is not taken to address the educational needs of some of the world’s most vulnerable children – those affected by armed conflict. If no action is taken, Save the Children warns that at least 30 million children, most living in conflict affected countries, are still likely to be out of school by 2015. This is the subject of a recent animated Save the Children report “The Story of the Future”.
