Education is a high priority in Norway's development cooperation. Norway takes a rights-based perspective to education, and it's 2003 strategy emphasizes the importance of education reaching the most vulnerable groups, including girls, children in emergencies and children with disabilities.
This study was commissioned by Norad and based on a review of literature on issues of education and gender equality. It's aim is to analyse and assess the evidence base that exists on achievements, best practices and emerging issues related to education and gender equality in order to better establish the way forward with regards to gender equality in education.
