Girls CHARGE to host upcoming webinar 'Financial Education and Economic Empowerment'

Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 9:00am to 10:00am EDT. The webinar will explore the role of financial education in girls’ empowerment and present recent research conducted on this topic as part of the Credit Suisse Financial Education for Girls program being implemented by Plan International and Aflatoun International.

Recently, Credit Suisse, Plan International, and Aflatoun International published a policy brief that evaluates the role of financial education in girls’ economic empowerment. The brief includes an overview of all evaluated program models focusing on financial education and economic empowerment. During the webinar, the main findings and the implications for implementation, policy, and evaluation of financial education programs for adolescent girls will be discussed, as well as ongoing case studies from Rwanda, Brazil, China, and India that focus on the importance of context. There will also be a time for Q&A.

Christina Kwauk, post-doctoral fellow at the Center for Universal Education at Brookings, will moderate a discussion featuring representatives from each of the partners: Aukje te Kaat from Aflatoun, Clare Daly from Plan International UK, and Eva Halper from Credit Suisse.

To confirm your participation of this webinar, please RSVP to Aline Pognonec. Call-in information will be sent to those who are interested in participating.
