According to the OOSCI Report there are approximately 11.9 million out-of-school children aged 5-13 in India.

Meet Gandla Malleswari from a small village in Munipallymandal of Medak District. Having lost her mother at an early age and soon after abandoned by her father, her and her 5 siblings were left in their aunt and uncles care. They had never been to school.

Thanks to a determined grandmother they were sent with the MV Foundation volunteers. Joining the Residential Bridge Course Camp for Girls in Chandrayangutta, Hyderabad changed Gandla’s life! Listen and watch as dedicated teachers and Gandla explain the learning process, challenges, motivation and her journey to becoming the first camera woman in the entire state!
