Spotlight on Girls’ Education in East Asia and the Pacific
On the agenda were updates on the EFA Mid-Decade Assessment and thematic studies, documentation of good practices, and possible regional and country level activities, and networking with other key players in the region. The group was co-chaired by UNICEF and UNESCO Bangkok.
The Regional UNGEI for East Asia and the Pacific was launched in May 2002. It seeks to establish networks and partnerships among experts and organizations promoting education and gender rights. The goal of the regional group is to ensure the availability of a quality education for all girls across the region.
