The first-ever comprehensive bibliography of existing research on gender and education in the Commonwealth Caribbean has just been published by the Institute of Education and the Centre for Gender and Development Studies, University of the West Indies, Mona, in cooperation with UNESCO.  

"Gender has long been a major topic of educational research and investigation in our region," says Professor Hyacinth Evans of the Institute of Education of the University of the West Indies. "We hope that the publication will not only stimulate the further development of research in this field, but also serve as a source of information for policy-makers in considering gender issues in education." This extensive bibliography of close to 250 pages will be available in print in October 2007 together with three indexes at the end.
